We are pleased to offer this free cleanse that includes simple practices to reset the digestive system, purify the body and ground the mind for the season.

  • Sit during meals.

  • Practice gratitude and be mindful to have positive thoughts while eating. All improves digestion and processing of toxins.

  • Eat less wheat, dairy, meat, soy.

  • Eliminate alcohol and caffeine.

  • Avoid all raw and cold foods and beverages.

  • Opt for warm beverages and sip on warm water throughout the day.

  • Drink grounding and warming teas such as ginger

  • Increase: turmeric, black pepper, coriander, fennel.

  • Try our Golden Milk

  • Cook meals with root vegetables and warming spices such as cinnamon, cumin, ginger, cayenne and black pepper.

  • Heavier meals are important in the winter because your digestive fire is higher and needs to be fed.

  • Focus on the tastes of sweet (unprocessed), sour, and salty. Avoid astringent foods that will dry you out.

  • Eat khichdi a minimum of once a day. Try your hand at our family recipe.

  • Absorb sun early or later in the day for vitamin D absorption and mood.

  • Go slow.

  • Regulate your meal quantities with your largest meal in the middle of the day and eat no later than 2 hours before bed to allow your body to use energy for detoxification and restoration at night.

  • Consume light soups, grains, or a vegetarian meal of small portions

  • Avoid screens, food, drink, and artificial light 2-4 hours before bed.

  • Apply nasal oil in the nostrils before bed and as needed throughout the day.

  • Rub sesame oil or ghee with lavender on the bottoms of your feet and put on socks.

  • Reflect and journal to process what may come up for you during this time.

  • Sleep by 10:00pm to optimize restorative sleep cycles.

  • Enjoy this time for yourself, appreciate and honor your body, and notice how you feel. You may want to continue some of these practices in the long-term!
