Our KOSA Abhyanga can be modified for guests who have cancer and those who want deeper tissue massage in targeted muscle groups included.

This is a preventative health practice and typically lasts 6+ months, with regular visits to be determined by your health counselor.

prior to your visit

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey to wellness.

Prior to your visit, we ask that you complete your online intakes and we will use this information to customize your treatment. These are all simple, click-thru, online forms.

If you are booked for a Shirodhara, please refrain from the use of alcohol and/or any mood and mind-altering substances 24 hours prior to your service, as it is contraindicated.

If you are pregnant, please note that Abhyanga is contraindicated, and if you are breastfeeding, essential oils are contraindicated.

Guests between the ages of 15-18 are welcome. These minors must be accompanied by an adult who will be present in the room, receiving a service with them.

cancellations & late arrivals

Your appointments and well-being are very important to us. We understand that sometimes, unexpected events occur, requiring schedule adjustments.

All appointments are considered confirmed, regardless of whether you re-confirm via text or email.

If you need to cancel your appointment, we respectfully request at least 48 hours notice.

To cancel, please call (608.999.7558) or email us and leave a message if we are unavailable to answer the phone. This is considered a cancellation and you will not be charged should we receive your message outside of the 48-hour window.

We require a credit card to hold your appointment. If assessed, cancellation fees of 60% will be charged to your card on file.

Please note that we do charge for all cancellation reasons, including illness. If you have extenuating circumstances, please ask to talk with the owner as our Managers are not authorized to waive cancellation fees.

For cancellations on the day of your appointment, and arrivals later than 20 minutes and no shows, we charge a 100% no-show fee. Late arrivals for services 45 minutes or less cannot be performed and there is a 100% late arrival fee.

We recognize that the time of our clients and staff is valuable and have implemented this policy for these reasons. When you miss an appointment with us, we miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time, and other clients miss the opportunity to receive services.

arrival

Please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your scheduled treatment time and ensure your intake forms are completed in order to allow for you to have your full service time.

NOTE: The Dane County Farmers Market will be happening at Garver every Saturday from January through April. Please allow extra time for parking.

You may come in through either main Garver entrance and make your way upstairs to the mezzanine, where you will find Kosa on the east side.

We offer a safe space for everyone, and respect your choices. If you have a gender preference for your changing room, please let us know when you check in.

service

All services begin with an herbal foot bath and Ayurvedic health and/or skin consult so we can customize your service with the appropriate oils, touch, and techniques. This could take up to 10 minutes of your service time, depending on the nature of the consult.

After your service, guests are welcome to relax in our Sanctuary Lounge for up to 30 minutes. In the Sanctuary you will find comfortable couches, books, teas, and quiet space.

We ask that if you are with a group or friend, that you are sensitive to the quiet space of our other guests who are retreating in the Sanctuary.

The Garver Feed Mill gifts us with natural brick and beautiful historic energy. Many of our rooms have windows with views to the tree tops, connecting us to nature. However, if you require a dark room, please call us to make this request and we will be happy to accommodate you.

what to bring

Guests will have use of lockers, organic robes, towels, and slippers. Our retreat experience allows you to go inward, free of distractions, with time to focus on self-care. As such, please leave all devices at home or in your lockers.

We also provide Kosa's locally made organic soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion for your dosha. It's a whole shower experience! Note that many of our services include a lush amount of oil, so allow for time to wash hair and body if you require it.

Please leave valuables at home, as KOSA is not responsible for lost items.

Our treatment rooms are quiet spaces filled with the sound of fountains and white noise, but do not have music playing. Please feel free to bring earplugs if that would enhance your experience.

steam & sauna

Our steam and sauna ritual is available as a separate Personal Retreat or Community Spa booking,.

For these bookings, you have private access to our hot stone sauna, hydrotherapy steam room as well as additional time in our meditation space and Sanctuary lounge with teas, snacks, infused water, and our wisdom library. Feel free to bring a journal or book to support your retreat.

Personal Retreats are private, and you you may opt to wear a swimsuit for your private sauna, or use one of our organic towels.

For Community Retreats, swimsuits are required, as you are sharing the space in a communal setting.

noble silence

Quiet time and space are increasingly rare in today’s world. In order to honor noble silence, we have created an environment that supports your desire to connect with yourself and just be. To that end, we ask that digital devices are left in lockers, and we request that conversations are kept to a minimum.

gratuity

We charge 22% gratuity on all services to simplify the process for everyone. This covers both our Therapists and our Spa Guest Hosts. For Personal Retreats and food, we charge 18% gratuity. Gratuity is in addition to the quoted service prices. Our mission for you to feel nourished and cared for after your services, and grateful for your experience.
