Sonya Sankaran is a second generation Indian American living in Madison, Wisconsin.
As an artist, ecologist, and educator, she focuses on the strong relationship between nature and health. Before moving back to her hometown of Madison, she worked for organizations from the Monteverde Conservation League in Costa Rica to the Ashoka Trust for Ecology and the Environment in India.
Sonya completed her masters in marine science in California before working as an educator for the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Today, Sonya creates art and programs that promote conservation and enhance human and environmental well-being through a connection to nature.
